BIOGRAPHY

Jason began his musical journey at the age of six when his Grandmother would ask him to sing church hymns for her. From there, he never looked back.

Growing up in North Florida, Jason's experiences would inevitably find themselves embedded in song. Jason is the only son of Jimmy and Joyce Byrd. He was raised in a rural community outside of Tallahassee. "We may have had ten cars come by our house in a day's time. There wasn't much to do so I had to keep myself busy and use my imagination a lot. Sometimes too much!" Jason continued to make music while growing up. He joined the band in Junior High and continued throughout High School. During this time, he would start to realize that music was always going to be a part of his life. After graduation from high school, Jason went on to become a Fire Fighter for the City of Tallahassee. Not long after starting this career, Jason was given the opportunity to sing in his first band.

As time went by, Jason continued to sing for several bands, where he began playing guitar. He finally formed his own band and began promoting himself. This lead to the development of large group of fans that to this day turn out for his shows. Jason's life, playing live shows, meeting new people and experiencing life "outside the nest" would prove to add a dynamic and versatile approach to his songwriting.

His songs found their way into the hands of some of country music's most respected industry executives creating quite a buzz in Music City. The door was finally opened for Jason one night with a call from Nancy Jones. Nancy, the wife of country music legend George Jones, was introduced to Jason's music by a friend in the music business. This introduction led to a management deal with Nancy Jones Management and recording contract with Polygram Records. From there, the ball started rolling and hasn't stopped since.

Jason has performed with some of the biggest names in country music such as George Jones, Mark Chestnut, Tracey Lawrence, Confederate Railroad, Billy Dean, Tracy Byrd, Joe Nichols, Lee Ann Womack, Tanya Tucker, Mark Collie, Jeanie Sealy, Doug Supernaw, and many more. He has played everything from small private parties to large arenas. Jason was also a guest twice on TNN"S hit show "Nashville Now". Recently, Jason made his debut performance on "The Grand Old Opry". Whether in a small intimate setting or an arena, Jason's love for entertaining shows each time he takes the stage. "I just really enjoy what I'm doing. If I can get someone to listen to me play, I'll sing all night." -Byrd

Currently, Jason is working on completing his album, writing songs, and touring with the

legendary George Jones.
