Trick Pony Records Last Album
Heidi Newfield, Keith Burns, and Ira Dean made up the group Trick Pony, known for their outrageous performances and stage dives from their lead vocalist.
Lead vocalist Heidi Newfield told her publicist that the night would be very special and sentimental for several reasons. "One, the Wildhorse stage is where we got our start ten years ago...when Ira had bangs and I was WAY too blonde! Secondly, it's where we got our record deal, and now it's where we'll play our last show together. What an amazing ride it's been! With this final show, we are paying tribute to the fans, the music, and the memories by recording a live album throughout the evening."

The Wildhorse Saloon in Nashville Tennessee was definitely the place to be Wednesday night, as the famed country group Trick Pony recorded their final album, Live!
The decision to record a final Trick Pony project follows Heidi Newfield’s announcement earlier this year that she will soon begin recording a solo album in 2007. Stay tuned to www.heidinewfield.com for additional information on both the LIVE album and Heidi's forthcoming solo project, both on Curb Records.

Many news reports, including Us Magazine's website, reported Keith Urban had been released from the rehab center he checked himself into on October 19th. Urban was spotted at the Polo Lounge in the Beverly Hills Hotel, having brunch on Sunday, with his wife Nicole Kidman. Although the press speculated that Urban had completed treatment, Keith's publicist told CMT, that he is not back home in Nashville and has not yet finished his recovery program. Urban is now in the stage of treatment where patients occasionally leave the center for short periods. He will finish his treatment at the Betty Ford Center near Palm Springs, California. We continue to wish Keith and Nicole the very best and applaud his decision to share his recovery with his fans. Urban's new album, Love, Pain & the Whole Crazy Thing holds number one on Billboard.

Buxton recounted the experience in her blog: "What a cool weekend," exclaimed Sarah. "My folks came in for my first performance on the Grand Ole Opry. I performed right before Mel McDaniel in both performances.... and he was AWESOME! The band was killer and they played magically. I've never loved singing "Innocence" as much as I did that night. " Without You "
The Controversy...You Decide!
If you are old enough to remember the first time the song
"Without You" was released, then you might be very interested
to know, that recently it's been re-cut by two different artists from two
different genres and is causing quite a bit of stir.
The POP or COUNTRY version?... We'll let you decide.
But first, how about a little history.
|
Country Artist Chad Burdick
|
Pop Artist Clay Aiken
|
Clay Aiken, American Idol Season 2 Finalist, and Rising Country
Music Star Chad Burdick have both released their own renditions of
the 1970's Mega-hit "Without You."
The song "Without You" was originally recorded by the duo
Badfinger, in 1970. It was on their second album, No Dice.
Badfinger members, Peter Ham and Tom Evans wrote the piece.
Ham had written a song called "Is This Love?," but wasn't happy
with the chorus. Evans came up with the "I can't live if living is
without you" chorus, but had no verses for it, so they put the
two songs together as one. The rest as they say, is history.
However, this bit of history did not end well for Badfinger.
Both Ham and Evans committed suicide by hanging. Ham in 1975,
and Evans in 1983. Many still believe that Harry Nilsson wrote the song,
as he re-released his own version in 1972, incorporating an orchestra
and giving the song a very dramatic production.
But now, we have a battle of the genres, with two newer
productions of the song in 2006.
Although Mariah Carey and the soft rock group Air Supply,
both released their own versions of "Without You," the buzz really
never started stirring until now, with two new releases from two
different genres. Everyone seems to have an opinion, and we
want to hear yours!
New Country Star just might bring you an
Exclusive Interview with Chad Burdick or Clay Aiken.
So cast your vote, and let us know which version of Without You,
you want in your CD player !
