Internet Radio United

To Broadcast

The New Country Star

VIP Fan Party From Nashville

Internet radio came together in what was possibly the widest simultaneous broadcast in the history of the online country music community.

Friday night June 22nd, at least seven internet radio stations came together in a simultaneous broadcast of the New Country Star VIP Fan Party in Nashville, which was held on June 8th, during the CMA Fan Festival.  The broadcast came courtesy of Dixieboy Radio who had attended the event and originally planned to broadcast live, but experienced technical difficulties with their connection at the venue. Instead the station recorded performances and snagged exclusive interviews with performers throughout the day.  Just some of the stations who participated were Bzoo Radio, Radio Indy, Nixa Country, Dixieboy Radio, and Planet Net Tunes.  Performances by Kim McAbee, Jason Coley, Jorrin Tyler, and Gwen Sebastian rocked many internet radio listeners.  A few surprise callers were also broadcast, and Forums and Chat Rooms were buzzing with excitement over the unified broadcast.   Plans for next years event are already underway, with some of the same artists already reserving their spots on the roster.

NEW COUNTRY STAR

Welcomes

Photojournalist Ron Keessar

Ron Keessar, long time member of the CCMA, (Canadian Country Music Association) and 13 year veteran volunteer Entertainment Critic and concert photographer with Rimbey Record & Rimbey Review, has joined the New Country Star Team.  You may not know his face, but you most certainly have seen his work. Ron's columns, reviews and photos have appeared in Canadian publications, "Country Music News" and on the pages of websites and newsletters of many country music artists.

Living in central Alberta, Ron has covered concert venues between Calgary & Edmonton and all parts in between with hi-lights including the CCMA awards and a 10 year stint with the Big Valley Jamboree held in Camrose Alberta each August long weekend.

I’m truly excited to have been embraced by our friends at ‘New Country Star’ & ‘Canadian Country Star’ as their columnist & free-lance photographer and I hope to share my experiences with you, the fans, through exclusive material only seen on this

remarkable web-site in the coming months.

Keith Urban

Going Green

Keith Urban wants to do his part in helping

save the environment. Since he's taking a

dozen trucks and five buses on his Love,

Pain and the whole crazy World Tour, he's

got them using bio-diesel fuel. He says,

"The bio-diesel seemed to be a good way to

offset a lot of that. With that, we've got a

   hundred-percent reduction in sulfur dioxides

and sulfates, and we do at least 48-percent

reduction in carbon monoxides." Keith also

helped raise awareness by performing at

   this month's Live Earth event.

Blake Shelton Busts

  Intruder in Oklahoma

The evening news in Ada, Oklahoma recently reported on country music singer Blake Shelton's rather

exciting

visit back home.  Shelton was reportedly \visiting his mother Dorothy Shackleford, when his uncle

called looking for help.

Shelton's uncle, Dempsey Byrd,

woke up to find a stranger in his home. “Blake was over at the house, and Dempsey called and said there was a strange man in his house,” Shackleford said. “He said he woke up and there was a big man in his house, so Blake and I just jumped in the truck and went over there.”

When they arrived, Shackleford said, they looked in through the window and saw a man inside.

“Blake knocked on the door and the man sort of stumbled over and opened it, and Blake said, ‘Hey, you’re in my house, man,’” Shackleford said.

When asked if the police got an autograph from her famous son, Shackleford replied with a laugh, "I'm not even sure they recognized him, to be honest."

Keith Urban has postponed his tour European tour dates in October, according to his official Web site. The announcement cited "international commitments" as the reason for the change in plans. Well, for whatever reason Urban deserves the month of October off, it being his birthday month.  Keith is expected to return to Europe in 2008 for a tour. His next concert date is July 26 in Milwaukee, with North American tour dates scheduled through September 22nd.  New Country Star readers shouldn't worry, we're going along to bring you up close coverage.

Lambert Does "Crazy"

Like It's Never Been Done Before

There have been more renditions of

  Patsy Cline's "Crazy" than probably

any other cover song over the past

  four decades.  New Country Star

received a tip this week from one

of our readers, asking us to check

out a video performance of Miranda

Lambert doing the 1960's hit during

her recent fan club party in Nashville.

Well, we took that tip and let's just

say... we were "wowed."   The entire

staff unanimously fell silent.  In fact,

the editorial office was more quiet

than it's ever been, at least since I

came on board almost a year ago.

The normal bustling of chatter over

this weeks stories came to an abrupt

halt and a few phones were left

ringing, as one by one we all gathered

around the screen to watch Lambert's

video.   There's just no way to

describe the vocal delivery.  To say

it was great, might even be an

  understatement.   So, we decided

to make sure all of our readers got

to hear for themselves.  We are quite

sure you will agree, that Miranda

Lambert delivers one of the greatest

hit singles of all time, better than anyone

  including Patsy herself.  Get ready

  for goosebumps!
