The Thanksgiving Day Reviews are In !
If there's a live performance, chances are New Country Star is
there... and we were!
While most of America feasted with family this past Thanksgiving Day,
New Country Star staff members were making it their job to catch
some pretty special country artists performing the National Anthem
at two different NFL Games. In Kansas City, Jessica Harp, a
member of the country duo "The Wreckers" performed prior
to the Broncos-Chiefs game. Staff members attending that
performance say "It was cold, but Harp had the privilege of opening
for a sell-out crowd, the biggest since 1967 in Kansas City."
Further up North, some New Country Star columnists had the pleasure
of seeing and hearing 16-year-old country music
sensation Taylor Swift sing in Detroit for the Miami Dolphins/
Detroit Lions game, broadcast on CBS.
"It was by far the most original and memorable rendition I've heard. "
"I think everyone in attendance, including the players and
the crowd were blown away. It got so quiet in that arena,
quieter than I've ever heard during the Anthem opening
of any other sports event. I don't think most expected such
powerful vocals to come from someone so young and so
small." Although small framed, one thing is for certain,
Swift's talent is huge. Known for her writing abilities and
skills on the guitar, she gave a one-of-a-kind rendition of
the National Anthem, by coming to the mic with her guitar and
playing an acoustic type version of America's most popular
patriotic hymn.
DON'T MESS WITHLINDALE !
Performing her new song, "Crazy Ex Girlfriend" on the CMA Awards Show Monday night, Miranda Lambert did not disappoint. After setting things on fire at last years awards show, this year Lambert left nothing standing but the crowd. Ending her performance by throwing her mic stand and smashing her guitar, a perfect follow-up to her stage stomping performance in 2005. It's hard to believe so much attitude comes from a small town in Lindale, Texas. “Crazy Ex Girlfriend” will start going out to country radio stations later this week, and by what we heard tonight it looks like Lambert's new single could be another hit, which means big things for her sophomore album. |

Welcome Back Clay________________
|
Clay Walker is back and we are so glad he is. Monday, Clay's new single "Fore She Was Mama " was officially added to radio, so start calling your local stations with your requests. It's a fun and funny little song about Mama before she was Mama, and her children finding some pictures of her before the aprons, minivans, church and skirts. The lyrics aren't your usual CW style, but the voice is incredibly classic Clay. What we can only describe as a voice that has held fans for over a decade and is as pure as traditional country can get.

T-Shirt Turns Air Guitar Into Music
Scientists announced Monday that they have developed a high-tech
T-shirt that turns the strumming of an air guitar into music.
The T-shirt has motion sensors built into its elbows that pick up the wearer's
arm motions and relay them wirelessly to a computer which interprets them as guitar rifts, said Richard Helmer, an engineer who leads the research team from the government's Australian Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization.
One arm is interpreted as picking chords while the other strums.
The "wearable instrument shirt" is adaptable to both right and left-handed would-be rock stars.
It's an easy-to-use, virtual instrument that allows real-time music making even by players without significant musical or computing skills," Helmer said in a statement.
It allows you to jump around and the sound generated is just like an original MP3," he added, referring to the digital audio file format.
The shift is a collaboration between CSIRO researchers in computing, chemistry, electronics, music composition and textile manufacture.
Helmer said sensors could be used in the future to reproduce a person in the virtual world so they could get feedback on their actions and improve their sporting techniques.
