BIOGRAPHY
The Outlaw Junkies are now in their fifth year together as a band and for good reason, they just keep getting better and better. Previously Steel Horse, this group has performed at fairs, festivals,
concert venues and has opened for many national acts including RCA recording artist ALABAMA. They were the 2002 regional finalist in the Colgate Country Showdown and were the back up band for the competition in previous years.
In 2002 they recorded in Nashville with producer and band leader of BNA recording artist Lonestar, Dean Sams, at Sony/Tree studio. The project made it to several major labels and was put on hold by one. After several changes in the original line up, the band was introduced to Tate Stevens in late 2005. After they auditioned Tate for the lead vocalist spot they knew they had their guy. They also added Angie Larson as female vocalist/keyboards and Bill Larson (original member of the band Missouri) on Drums. The original members include Steve Koken (B3, keys and acoustic), Troy Wahl (lead guitar and mandolin), Richard Ralph (bass guitar), and Daron Tapscott (fiddle, acoustic, mandolin and harp). In 2005 alone the band appeared with 20 national acts including Phil Vassar, Billy Currington and Gary Allan and in 2006 they worked with Chris Cagle, Josh Turner and Tracy Lawrence just to name a few. In the spring of 2006 they record their first original song "Fools Like Us" which recently won the group "Best new band/duo" on New Country Star.com. They are currently in the studio working on their first full album scheduled to be out in the spring of 2007. Off of this album will be there first release "Redneck Rich and Hillbilly Happy" Co written by Tate's good friend Drew Davis form the Drew Davis Band. The Outlaw Junkies are
fun to see live as their passion for music shines through on all sides.
This is one high energy band that could care less about anything other
than giving their fans a great show and a great time each and every time.
