Brittany Roe

New Country Star Female Vocalist of the Month

Brittany Roe is making waves on the Country Music Scene.

Her single "Shoes" climbed the Texas Music Chart to the #2 spot for 8 weeks.

Being dubbed female vocalist of the year for the state of Oklahoma would seem like big shoes for any fifteen year old to fill, but for Brittany Roe, it's just one of many career highlights for the now twenty-four year old. Brittany was born in Del City, Oklahoma and not too shortly after that day, Del City was graced by her voice. Singing came as naturally as talking to Roe. Brittany explains the early infatuation; "But how could I help it? My mom and dad always had some type of music playing all day. Even when I was a baby, my mom would play her trumpet to put me to sleep. Even loud music was soothing to me." While most five-year olds were eating sand, Brittany had already begun honing her live performance at fundraisers, banquets and similar city functions.

A live performance that today has shared the same stage with numerable country superstars like Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Joe Diffie, Tracy Byrd, Aaron Tippin and Mark Chesnutt among others.

A lot of talent and a little bit of bragging got Brittany those coveted opening spots for that parade of country greats. "My grandma and a friend of hers always gambled at Sam's Town Casino in Tunica, Mississippi, where I was introduced to Terry Jenkins with Boyd Gaming Corporation and scheduled for an audition. Once hearing and seeing me on stage he started booking me to be the opening act for several Major Country Artists. Little did I know how big these stars were going to be," Roe explains. Brittany didn't stay in the neon lights of the casino for long, as word of mouth spread about the burgeoning talent. Soon after word got around, she had the honor of going on a three-day tour with Kenny Chesney. "We traveled to Panama City, Pensacola, Florida, and Monroe, Louisiana.

I finally had some real road time. I knew right then that this was the life for me."

Following the typical life of an artist guidebook, Brittany became a waitress after high school. Luckily, Roe didn't have to drudge in the food industry long as her talent was noticed, once again. She got to grasp the proverbial dream as she hung up her server’s uniform to grab a pen and ink a deal with Labeless Nashville. With unparalleled support from the label, she has completed her debut album, "Is it HOT in here?”. Making the trek back and forth from her Oklahoma home to Nashville to record, re-inspires Brittany every time she hits the pavement. Brittany explains, "I know that God has a purpose for me. He has given me a talent that he expects me to use. So long as he keeps opening doors for me, I'm going to continue to walk through them."

Brittany is not content to be just a player in the country music industry. She wants to live up to the title artist. Not only a singer, Roe plays the piano and pens songs. "Although I'm fairly new at writing," Brittany says, "I enjoy being able to share my thoughts with others and putting my thoughts to music is great. I'm very eager to get to co-write with other people. There's so much I'll be able to learn from them." As far as her vocals, inserting a bunch of flowery adjectives would do little to describe Brittany's sound. Brittany more aptly describes her style: "I've never tried to copy anyone, and that's one of the few things that make me different. I always make sure I can feel the music I choose, whether it be fun, sassy, sad, romantic, or inspirational.

Because I believe there's a purpose for every song."

While finishing up her debut album, Brittany hit the road running with a Texas based tour. Conquering the Lone Star State will prove to Brittany she has the country chops to endear fans everywhere. She took her current single, "SHOES", to radio and continued turning heads with her electric live show. She will continue "reaching and entertaining the audience" in hopes of taking it to the top of the country game, and more humbly, making her family proud.

While attending her first CMA Country Music Festival AKA Fan Fair, Brittany completed her first music video. The video is based on her current single "Shoes". The video was shot at the Shoe Carnival store in Antioch, Tennessee. Brittany's "Shoes" video will be airing soon.

Brittany has been singing ever since she could talk. Her first performance was when she was five years old. She sang, "My Hands Belong To You Lord," at a church function. When she finished singing, she climbed up into her grandfather's lap and said, "Papa, I want to sing that in big church." This is where Brittany's dream of becoming a professional singer and entertainer began.

Brittany's strong feelings about music and her resolve to succeed are all connected to the kind of close relationship that she has with her family. All the members of her family are very supportive of each other. She said, "We are really full of love. Being raised in a Christian family helps me to keep a positive outlook on life."

Brittany likes every aspect of the music business. She realizes and respects the fact that you must work hard to achieve any goal you make for yourself. She said, "I get the most satisfaction when the audience feels the music the way I feel it when I sing. I enjoy all types of music. Every type can relate to someone. We all have hopes, dreams and hurts. I just want to relate to people through my music. I love life and I love singing. Music will always be a huge part of my life forever."

Brittany was self-inspired to become a professional musician and singer. She knew the direction she desired to take her music by watching the outstanding performances of Reba McEntire and Martina McBride. "Not only are Reba and Martina wonderful performers, they also have strong values and are terrific humanitarians," says Brittany.

Brittany is currently performing with her band.   She has been Touring the United States and Canada, making stops in Las Vegas's Mandalay Bay, California, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North/South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey and sharing the stage with Country Music greats Kenny Chesney, Toby Keith, Joe Diffie, Tracy Bryd, Aaron Tippin, Mark Chesnutt, Billy Dean, Blake Shelton, John Berry.

Be sure to see Brittany at the CMA Festival (Fan Fair) June 8-11 in Nashville.
