When a contemporary performer pays tribute to the time-honored traditions of Country music, fans from Nashville to Northern Canada take notice. When St. Thomas, Ontario singer Traci Kennedy expresses her love of Country music through her artistry, it’s very easy to recognize, she is a Country girl through and through. With a much-anticipated début CD released in March of 2006, and a myriad of fresh accolades to her credit, Kennedy’s star is about to shine brighter than ever before.
Once dubbed “Canada’s answer to LeAnn Rimes” by audience members after performing in front of the Grand Ole Opry, Traci Kennedy is much more than simply a stunningly beautiful songbird. A confident, talented artist with unlimited potential, Kennedy is about to steal your heart with her soulful ballads and toe-tapping tunes. Her diverse style deservingly draws comparisons to Country music icons Lori Morgan, Faith Hill, and even Patsy Cline.
A New Country star, with a Traditional Country soul, Traci Kennedy is an Ontario Open Country Singing Contest champion, claiming her crown in Wingham, Ontario in June 2003. She’s also the 1999 champion of the Canadian Open Country Singing Contest which has helped launch the careers of many Canadian country music artists such as The Wilkinsons, Gil Grand and Jake Mathews, to name a few. In 1999, she made her first trek to Nashville, bringing her special brand of music to the stage of the Nashville Palace, and strutting her stuff on an outdoor stage at the biggest Country Music venue of all, the Grand Ole Opry, during a special 74th Anniversary celebration. Soon, Nashville will come calling once again. Many of her fans were fortunate enough to witness her hour-long show at the 2002 London Country Jam, where she opened for legendary US-based Country music superstars, Sawyer Brown. In fact, Kennedy received one of the loudest encore calls amongst an outstanding collection of Canadian artists, including Beverley Mahood, Lisa Brokop and Michelle Wright. Dazzling audiences with a sexy, sassy style and angelic voice, Kennedy is clearly a Canadian music star.
Traci Kennedy recorded her début album down in Nashville with producer/singer/songwriter Paul Jefferson and fans cannot wait until Kennedy’s brand-new collection of songs becomes available. Paul has several top 10 records to his credit including Aaron Tippins’ “ That's As Close As I'll Get To Loving You,” which reached number one on both the Radio and Records chart as well as the Billboard chart.
Born and raised in the small farming community of Aylmer, Ontario, Traci Kennedy first sang in front of an audience at age 5, during a church service. Now a polished performer, Kennedy has devoted her entire life to her first love: music. Never taking her celebrity status for granted, Kennedy constantly gives back to the community, through her performances and involvement at many charity functions, benefiting a number of local causes, including: Easter Seals Society; M&M Meat Shops BBQ for Crohns’ & Colitis Foundation of Canada; McDonald’s McHappy Days; Tim Horton’s Send A Kid To Camp Day; and the St. Thomas Fire Muster for Muscular Dystrophy.
With an exciting start to 2006, Traci was nominated for a London Music Award ("Country/Bluegrass" Category) in her home community, she also was the opening act for Lonestar in Rochester, Michigan, plus she was one of twelve semi-finalists in the American based "All American Superstar" competition, making her the only Canadian in this contest.
“Traci has been the highlight of our Annual Fire Muster for the past ten years. A definite crowd pleaser!” – Dave Gregory & Mark Walters – Entertainment Coordinators, St. Thomas Professional Firefighters Association
“As a producer, I was impressed with Traci’s attention to vocal detail in the studio, all the while maintaining the highest level of performance. A real pro.” – Albert MacDonald, E.D.I. Productions
“The first time I heard Traci sing was during a live performance at a talent show in Ontario, and at that moment I remember saying to myself, this girl has the voice and the natural poise of an international star. I think she is a very special young lady with incredible talent!” – Gilles Godard, Producer/Songwriter, CURB Records, Nashville.
Traci Kennedy is available for concert performances, night clubs, national anthems, studio recording, songwriting, radio jingles, television, film and modeling.
